At AMU, we believe that when students are engaged, they learn. In support of this belief, we uphold the Kaizen principle on continuous improvement in our teaching and learning approaches to maximise the quality of student engagement. This is where our regularly scheduled classroom audits and course, as well as lecturer evaluations, serve as
important feedback mechanisms. Fundamentally, we believe in a student-centric teaching and learning model. We recognise that our students have diverse learning styles and strive to develop the most effective teaching methodology that will optimise their learning process. To ensure alignment between curriculum requirement and actual delivery, we also introduced a database system to manage students’ clinical posting, which is a critical component of our health science programmes.

As a global university, AMU has been fully accredited by the UK-based Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges & Universities (ASIC) which is a mark of quality showing that the institution has reached international standards. The ASIC provides other institutional partners, our students and parents with the assurance that AMU is on a solid
footing. This also allows the university to draw on its network partners’ experience and expertise in the planning and introduction of new and innovative
programmes.

Our Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MMBS) programme is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI), Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BM&DC) and the Maldives Medical & Dental Council (MMDC). The recognition further cements the university’s international appeal as it seeks to be a reputable name in medical education not just in Malaysia but also regionally. AMU is ready to welcome more international students with the hope of diversifying students’ learning experience with a multiracial blend of culture and perspectives.
