Living and studying in English – at the IUBH

• Your studies are completely in English – so you learn important specialised vocabulary and improve your ability to express yourself orally and in writing.

Five of our degree programmes were awarded the FIBAA premium seal. This award certifies the extraordinary quality of these programmes. It also makes the IUBH one of the leading universities in Germany with five or more premium seals.
The IUBH has been institutionally accredited without restrictions by the Science Council for 10 years. This is the highest accreditation that can be received in this process.
The CHE University Ranking is one of the best-known programme rankings in Germany. In the current CHE ranking, the IUBH repeatedly achieved top results among all German private universities: 1) Best placement in the “Overall Education” area (grade 1.6)
2) Best placement in “Practical Relevance” area (grade 1.7)
3) Best placement in the “Bachelor with International Orientation*” area (10 out of 11 possible points)
4) In direct comparison to the 2014 CHE ranking: Further improvement in the “Programme Options” (grade 1.4) and “Instructor Mentoring” categories (grade 1.8).

The Hanseatic Certification Agency (HZA) Quality Seal certifies that the IUBH offers high-quality degree programmes for vocational training and further education. The qualification of instructors, organisational and personnel structure, available space and current range of support measures were examined among other things.
The “Hotel Schools of Distinction” are an association of prestigious hospitality management institutions worldwide. Only ten institutions are members. The IUBH is one of the founding members and the only member university in Germany.
The UNWTO.Tedqual Quality Certificate is awarded by the United Nation’s World Tourism Organisation to the world’s leading tourism programmes. The IUBH is the first and only German university to receive this certificate so far.
Corporate LiveWire’s annual Innovation & Excellence Awards recognise companies and institutions that set industry trends with their creative products and innovative ideas. The IUBH was repeatedly honoured in 2018. Previous winners of the award include Uber, Riot Games, Microsoft and Airbnb.
