Ranking / Awards

> December 7, 2023 – Saskatchewan Polytechnic has reached an impressive milestone by securing the ninth overall position in Re$earch InfoSource Inc.’s latest Top 50 Research Colleges list. Sask Polytech ranks first for number of completed research projects, with 382 research projects in 2021-22. Sask Polytech also secured second place for number of research partnerships, with 185 collaborations, and number of paid student researchers, with 347 students actively engaged in research.

Governor General's Academic Medals
The Governor General’s Academic Medal was first awarded in 1873 by the Earl of Dufferin and has since become one of the most prestigious awards that a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive. The Governor General of Canada continues this tradition of encouraging scholarship across the nation and recognizing outstanding students. The medals are awarded only for academic excellence as follows:  
- Bronze at the secondary school level  
- Collegiate Bronze at the post-secondary diploma level

Moose Jaw

Moose Jaw is the fourth largest city in Saskatchewan and is located on Treaty 4 territory, and Homeland of the Métis people. With a population of 32,000 residents, Moose Jaw has a small town feel with big city amenities. With shopping malls, grocery stores, libraries, recreation complexes, movie theatres, easy access to health care, parks and more, Moose Jaw has everything a student needs.

Prince Albert

Prince Albert, also known as P.A., is the third largest city in Saskatchewan. It has a population of 35,000 and is located on Treaty 6 territory, and Homeland of the Métis people.

Regina

Regina is rich in history and heritage and is one of Canada's fastest growing major cities. With plenty of amenities such as shopping malls, grocery stores, libraries, recreation complexes, movie theatres, parks and easy access to health care facilities, Regina has everything a student needs.

Saskatoon

Saskatoon is the largest city in Saskatchewan and is located on Treaty 6 territory, and homeland of the Métis. Divided by the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon is often described as the "Bridge City" for its nine river crossings.

Hannin Creek Education Centre

The Hannin Creek Education and Applied Research Centre (HCEARC) is a unique multi-use, year-round educational facility. Located in a remote area of the mid-boreal forest ecosystem of central Saskatchewan, the centre is on a navigable creek system that ties into a large fresh-water lake and is situated in a provincial game preserve with an abundance of natural forests, wildlife, birds and fish.
