Master of Arts (Research)
Whether you want to get ahead in your career faster, or improve your knowledge, a Monash postgraduate degree can give you a distinct advantage.
The Master of Arts by 100 percent research will allow you to undertake substantial independent research on your chosen topic while supported by a minimum of two academic supervisors. You will produce a research thesis (or alternative approved output) and your research will make a contribution to the current body of knowledge on your chosen topic.
Monash Arts is renowned for innovative, engaging and high quality research in the humanities and social sciences and the Research Graduate School is committed to providing graduate research education of the highest quality in a stimulating, supportive and professional environment.
Research topics are available in most areas of research strength including: Cultural Heritage; Environmental Sustainability; Interpreting Cultures; Philosophy and Bioethics;Social and Cultural Theory; Global Change and Global Security; Health, Wellbeing and Social Change; and Performance. Non-traditional research outputs can also be pursued in specialisations in Creative Writing, Music Composition, Music Performance or Theatre Performance.
While undertaking your research, you will be supervised by academics whose research expertise aligns with yours. Our Faculty of over 500 academics are highly committed to train high quality, internationally recognised scholars that are passionate about producing cutting edge research and keen to contribute to their fullest capacity to the betterment of society at large.

Clayton
Clayton campus has around 26,000 students and is the largest of all eight campuses. It is located 20km south-east of Melbourne.
Caulfield
Caulfield campus is Monash University's second largest campus, nine kilometres south-east of Melbourne.
