Job Opportunity Potential

The Master of Professional Psychology program is designed to provide students with a 5th year of training and industry experience in the professional practice of psychology. The program allows students to become registered and practice as Provisional Psychologists whilst undertaking the course. It prepares graduates for their 6th year internships and general registration as a Psychologist upon completion of the 5+1 pathway requirements.

In order to meet registration requirements following completion of the 5th year MProfPsych program students must complete a 6th year internship and pass the National Psychology Exam. The MProfPsych program at ACU does not include the 6th year internship. All students, domestic and international, intending to complete a 6th year internship will be responsible for finding the supervised employment which will allow them to complete registration requirements.

International students on a student visa should be aware that the duration of the student visa will not extend to the one year of supervised practice required for registration. International students intending to complete the supervised practice will need to ensure that they attain an appropriate visa.
