Master of Agribusiness (MAgribus)

Position yourself as a future leader and develop your career in agribusiness.

The Master of Agribusiness is designed for recent business, agricultural or rural science graduates, and for established professionals wanting to upgrade their management skills or redirect their career into agribusiness. It takes 1.5 years to complete full time.

You'll select from over 20 courses providing you with a high level of specialised knowledge of agribusiness management, together with business and communication skills associated with your selected areas of study.

You may also choose to complete a research project on a topic of your choice, and increase your technical and research skills working alongside some of the university’s leading academics and researchers or in an industry setting.

You’ll graduate with a market-oriented focus, commercial awareness, an innovative and heightened global outlook, and the required technical skills to work in agribusiness management roles. Expect to find almost immediate work in the food and fibre industries in managerial, administrative or research roles.

Campus Information

Gatton

Gatton, UQ’s rural campus, is located in the Lockyer Valley, 87 kilometres west of Brisbane’s city centre, and halfway between Ipswich and Toowoomba. On this sprawling campus, which dates back to 1897, you’ll find world-class teaching and research facilities in agriculture, animals, veterinary science and the environment. It’s also a working farm, with more than 1000 hectares of dairy, pig, crop and grazing units, as well as post-harvest facilities and greenhouses. Gatton’s agricultural learning facilities sit against a backdrop of historical homesteads, sporting amenities, and community fruit and vegetable gardens.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

1.5-year degree (24 units of study)

If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time.

To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years full-time (only available as full-time study), you'll need:

  • a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business or marketing.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous degree.
