The need for specialist knowledge of financial management has never been greater among funds managers, corporations, financial institutions, and public sector entities. Retirement savings and public sector debt continue to grow, as technologies and geo-political risks increase. To cope, the financial sector must recognise and embed best practices relating to managing financial objectives and risks across volatile markets, changing demographics, new technologies and responsible investing and lending. 

The Graduate Certificate in Finance and Investment Management is designed for graduates looking to pursue careers in the finance sector. Through the duration of this degree, you’ll gain exposure to innovative investment strategies involving both traditional and alternative asset classes. Obtain a deep understanding of financial modelling, portfolio management, derivatives, fixed income, public sector financing, equities, venture capital, real estate and infrastructure while becoming acquainted with recent technological advancements shaping the financial industry. This knowledge will prepare you to navigate complex data across industries and make informed decisions that involve calculated risks supported by financial knowledge, data analysis and research.

Approved degree or equivalent in any discipline; or

GCAJI; or

GCAJT; and

Have completed the school's aptitude test in spoken and written Japanese and English to the standard set by the Executive Dean.

Candidates must sit and pass the Aptitude Test set by the School of Languages and Cultures before being admitted to the program. A fee may apply for the Aptitude Test. More information about the aptitude test, and test dates can be found on the School of Languages and Cultures website.
