Master of Journalism
The journalist of the future will play a crucial role in society by scrutinising and holding to account those in power, shedding light on systemic failings, and finding the truth. If you want to enter this exciting and rapidly changing industry, or you're a media practitioner seeking to extend your expertise or refresh the intellectual basis of your practice, the Master of Journalism is a perfect choice. Monash journalism's particular focus on public interest and investigative journalism will equip you to contribute to the main value add of journalism in society - informing the public to allow citizens to be self governing.
You will work with award-winning journalists and academics with outstanding industry links, achieve expert skills in research and reporting in print, digital, radio and video, and explore the media's evolving role in society.

Entry-level 2: Duration: 1.5 years full-time, 3 years part-time (72 points to complete)
An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline including humanities or social sciences with at least credit (60%) average, or equivalent qualification or experience approved by the faculty
OR
An Australian undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and an Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in a cognate discipline including humanities or social sciences with at least credit (60%) average in both qualifications, or equivalent qualification or experience approved by the faculty
