Bachelor of Community Services
The Bachelor of Community Services equips you with theory and practical skills necessary for a career in community and public sectors. You'll cover counselling, social justice, advocacy and welfare, and gain practical experience working with individuals and communities. This course is currently seeking accreditation by the industry peak body.
This course focuses on practical training while providing a solid grounding in the relevant communication, counselling and policy theory. Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Before you begin your application to study as a international student, check that you meet the requirements listed below.
- Successful completion of at least 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5, 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6 or above, or equivalent
OR - Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent Senior Secondary qualification, or Baccalaureate Diploma
- Academic IELTS 6.0 (no band less than 5.5) or equivalent.
OR alternative entry requirement may be available. Alternative entry may include assessment and approval of prior study, or successful completion of a readiness assessment.
