Master of Science in Finance Pathway
The Sawyer Business School offers Accelerated and Standard Pathway programs for qualified graduate students starting in the fall and spring.
The Accelerated Program is a one semester program which typically requires two Academic English course and three to four (3-4) required SBS graduate courses. The Accelerated Pathway Program is only offered in the fall or spring terms.
The Standard Pathway Program is a two semester program which typically requires two to three (2-3) Academic English courses and two to three (2-3) required SBS graduate courses in semester one followed by two (2) additional Academic English courses and two to three (2-3) required SBS graduate courses in semester two. The Standard Pathway Program is only offered in the fall or spring terms. Students who begin the Standard Pathway Program in the fall will enroll in 2 consecutive terms-fall and spring. Students who begin the Standard Pathway Program in the spring will enroll in 2 terms-spring and fall. The summer term is not a required term, therefore, no SBS Graduate Pathway courses are offered.
SBS graduate course credits, earned in the SBS Accelerated or Standard Pathway Program, will apply to the corresponding graduate degree program if successful progression requirements are met. SBS Graduate Pathway students must meet all academic standing requirements and policies to remain within their SBS Graduate Pathway and subsequent SBS graduate program.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
English Proficiency Requirement
Proficiency in English is required of all international applicants. Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official test scores from one of the following exams:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Suffolk welcomes both the TOEFL iBT and TOEFL Essentials. To be considered for full admission, a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80, with no subscore lower than 17, or a minimal TOEFL Essentials overall band score of 8.5, with no subsection below 8, is required. Suffolk University's code for TOEFL test scores is 3771.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS). A minimum score of 6.5 (with no subscore below 6.0) is required to be considered for full admission.
PTE-Academic (Pearson Test of English). A minimum score of 65 is required to be considered for full admission.
Duolingo. A minimum score of 110 is required to be considered for full admission, along with the following subscores:
Literacy: 110
Conversation: 100
Comprehension: 120
Production: 85

You must have an official copy of the test result sent directly from the testing service. Only the most recent English Proficiency Test is considered for admission. Scores are valid for two (2) years from the date the exam is taken.
