Higher Diploma in International Culinary Arts
This is an advanced professional cookery programme designed to provide a strong theoretical and practical knowledge and the skills needed to work in a professional culinary environment.
Following IMI's 70% theory to 30% practical approach, students will learn transferable management skills to prepare them to manage a professional kitchen and in readiness for paid, practical training which will be organised by our Careers and Internships team. The course is made up of a series of practical and theory based units with a variety of assessment types including examinations, coursework, essays, reports, group and individual projects and presentations.

Through our excellent network of contacts in the industry and the reputation of IMI, our Internships Team will help you to find suitable and challenging positions, either in Switzerland or abroad.
An internship is a period of practical training which allows you to put into practice what has been learnt during the academic semester. IMI accepts internships of minimum 22 weeks duration and in some programmes the internship is an integral part of the course. Please refer to the section on Programmes for more information about whether the internship is compulsory or optional.
Twice yearly, IMI welcomes some of the most prestigious hospitality employers to our campus in Kastanienbaum. These industry leaders visit IMI to lecture, recruit and guide our students through all aspects of employment in the field of hospitality and beyond. Due to these excellent industry contacts, students are given the opportunity to connect and network with future employers as well as secure internship, graduate placements and jobs whilst still on campus.
PSW Opportunity
There is absolutely no PSW but the Universities and institutions does encourage and provide opportunities for the students can go for internships

Transcripts/Certificates of your academic qualifications since High School
Students transferring from recognised hotel management schools must also include official transcripts or records for each semester of their previous course of study
IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent English test results
Two recent passport photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm), make sure background is white or grey, if it is colour it might be refused
Copy of passport and Swiss residence permit where applicable
