Art, Graphic Design Concentration - Bachelor of Fine Arts
Graphic Design is an evolving multi-disciplinary industry where designers use technology, design, and social awareness to solve problems that inform, educate, and elicit responses from end-users. Career paths within the field of Graphic Design include junior through senior-level Graphic Designer, Art Director, Interactive Designer, UI/UX Designer, Motion Graphics Designer, Packaging Designer, Advertising Designer, as well as many other positions.
Our BFA Graphic Design program at JSU creates designers who can tackle both the critical thinking and technical/formal production sides of visual communication. The courses in the graphic design concentration draw upon varied disciplines in the professional field and aid the student in developing an awareness of the diverse landscapes in which design functions. Through a sequence of courses, students become skilled at using traditional and contemporary technologies.

Job Opportunity Potential

- There are full-time faculty positions, e.g. Assistant Professor, Communication, Assistant Professor, Project Management.

PSW Opportunity
Post-Study Work visa or permit, allowing international students on F-1 visas to work in the US after completing their studies, typically through Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Eligibility:
To be eligible for OPT, students must have been enrolled full-time in a US educational institution for at least one academic year and be seeking work related to their major.
Duration:
Students can apply for up to 12 months of OPT, either before they finish their studies (pre-completion) or after graduation (post-completion).
STEM OPT:
Students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields can apply for an extended OPT period of up to 24 months.

Minimum high school GPA and graduation with a valid and acceptable diploma type - Prior to graduation, an official high school transcript is required indicating the GPA of work completed through at least the junior year of high school. To be offered provisional admission before high school graduation, applicants should have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.00 on a 4.00 scale (75/100). Upon graduation, an official high school transcript showing the date of graduation and type of diploma received is required. (JSU Policy No. III:19 High School Diploma Validation Policy)
