Latin American and Latinx Studies, Bachelor of Arts
The Latin American and Latinx Studies major draws on various social science disciplines, such as sociology, political science, anthropology and economics, as well as on disciplines in the humanities, including history, literature and the arts. By integrating these varied disciplines in the LLS courses, this major is designed to ensure that students will have both a comprehensive foundational and interdisciplinary knowledge of Latin American and Latinx Studies and a specialization in either Latin American Studies or Latinx Studies.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Freshman applicants are also required to submit:
- All secondary school transcripts and official English translations if these documents are in another language (evaluations are not required)
- Copies of secondary school diplomas and official English translations if these documents are in another language (evaluations are not required)
If you are a citizen of a country where English is not the official language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Have your scores sent directly to CUNY Admissions. Our code is 2950. A score of 500 is required for the paper-based test; 173 for the computer-based test and 61 for the internet-based test. Students can also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) PTE Academic or Duolingo. A score of 6 is required on the IELTS, 44 on the PTE Academic, or 90 on Duolingo.
