International Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Arts

The major in International Criminal Justice introduces students to the nature and cause of crime at the international level and to the mechanisms for its prevention and control. Components of the criminal justice system as they apply to transnational and international crime are studied, as well as the impact of international law and human rights in addressing crimes against humanity. The major is intended to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for careers in which the globalization of crime plays an important role. It also is designed to prepare students for advanced work in graduate or professional school.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Freshman applicants are also required to submit:

  • All secondary school transcripts and official English translations if these documents are in another language (evaluations are not required)
  • Copies of secondary school diplomas and official English translations if these documents are in another language (evaluations are not required)

If you are a citizen of a country where English is not the official language, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  Have your scores sent directly to CUNY Admissions.  Our code is 2950.  A score of 500 is required for the paper-based test; 173 for the computer-based test and 61 for the internet-based test.  Students can also take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) PTE Academic or Duolingo. A score of 6 is required on the IELTS, 44 on the PTE Academic, or 90 on Duolingo.
