The Master of Science in Psychology is designed for individuals who are looking for career promotions or enhanced employment opportunities as well as those who want to further their education in preparation for various doctoral degrees.

Students in the program will benefit from:

  • A solid foundation in advanced psychological principles, theories, practices and research
  • Exposure that leads to increased respect and appreciation of diversity and individual differences
  • A curriculum that aligns with the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Commission on Accreditation Educational Guidelines for doctoral education to facilitate the potential transfer of credits for ongoing higher education.

Although the program does not presently lead to licensure for independent practice in psychology, it may meet several of the academic requirements for such licensure as various states have different licensure requirements.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Graduate Admissions Requirements

To be admitted to the graduate school, you must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution (equivalent to a four-year US baccalaureate degree)
    • You must submit an official copy of your Bachelor’s transcripts in order to be admitted (official English translated)
    • If you are transferring from a current Master’s program, foreign transcripts typically needs to be evaluated by one of Indiana Tech’s approved transfer credit agencies
  • Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.5
    • Our office will calculate your GPA in house using your completed Bachelor’s transcripts
  • Submit English proficiency test results (for students from non-English speaking countries) from the below list of approved testing agencies:
    • TOEFL (iBT)- 70
    • IELTS – 6.0
    • PTE – 51
    • Duolingo English Test (DET) – 95
