Bachelor of Science in Accounting
The Accounting Major provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the theory of accounting, financial accounting and reporting, managerial and cost accounting, taxation, concepts of auditing, and business law. It is built on a broad background in humanities, liberal arts, economics and business administration.
The Accounting Major gives students the foundation and skills to pursue careers with public accounting firms, corporations, government, and nonprofit organizations. It provides the background to sit for the following examinations:
- Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.)
- Certified Management Accountant (C.M.A.)
- Certified Internal Auditor (C.I.A.)

New Brunswick campus
New Brunswick is one of three regional campuses of Rutgers University, New Jersey's public research university. It is located in New Brunswick and Piscataway. Newark campus
Newark is one of three regional campuses of Rutgers University, New Jersey's State University. It is located in Newark. Rutgers, founded in 1766 in New Brunswick, is the eighth oldest college in the United States and a member of the Association of American Universities. In 1945, the state legislature voted to make Rutgers University, then a private liberal arts college, into the state university and the following year merged the school with the former University of Newark (1936–1946), which became the Rutgers–Newark campus. Rutgers also incorporated the College of South Jersey and South Jersey Law School, in Camden, as a constituent campus of the university and renamed it Rutgers–Camden in 1950.

Camden is one of three regional campuses of Rutgers University, New Jersey's public research university. It is located in Camden, New Jersey. Founded in 1929, Rutgers–Camden began as an amalgam of the South Jersey Law School and the College of South Jersey. It is the southernmost of the three regional campuses of Rutgers—the others being located in New Brunswick and Newark.

Grade Point Average (GPA)
Most international applicants will not have a Grade Point Average (GPA) that is based on the 4-point scale used in the United States. If this is the case for you, please enter 0.00 on the electronic application. GPA information is used for statistical purposes and your transcripts will clarify your academic achievement.
Scores for TOEFL or IELTS
A TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test score is required if your undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country.
- Your scores must be current within 2 years of the semester you are applying to.
- You are exempt from submitting TOEFL or IELTS scores if you are a Permanent Resident, US citizen, or an international applicant with a minimum of three years undergraduate studies or a masters degree with the mode of instruction being English.
- If you are missing required test scores, your application will not be reviewed by the graduate admissions committee.
- The minimum paper-based TOEFL score is 550. The minimum computer-based TOEFL score is 213
- The minimum IBT-internet based TOEFL is Writing 22, Speaking 23, Reading 21, Listening 17.
- An acceptable IELTS score is bandwidth 7.
- You must be proficient in the reading, writing, and speaking of English to communicate effectively with graduate faculty and university administrators. Language intensive graduate programs such as History, English, Psychology, and others might have stricter requirements.
