Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology
Interdisciplinary dual campus Graduate Program offered by the Graduate School at CU Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus
Multi-college partnership of the Graduate School with the School of Medicine, the School of Public Health, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Pharmacy and the Business School.
The Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology is recognized as a Professional Science Master's Program, and provides broad training in the biomedical sciences as well as introductions to regulations, intellectual property, entrepreneurship, i.e. disciplines that add knowledge and competitiveness for entering the biotechnology workforce.
Graduation with a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences & Biotechnology requires 38 credits, including an internship that students will select according to their career plans.
The Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences & Biotechnology can also serve as a valuable stepping-stone for entering a Biomedical Sciences PhD Program or Professional Programs such as Medical School, Dental School or a School of Pharmacy.
The Master’s Program in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology is recognized as Western Regional Graduate Program which allows residents of the 16 member states of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) to apply for resident tuition.
Program alumni have obtained employment in industry and academia or have entered DO/Medical School or moved on to PhD programs.

Types of Employment
Work-Study
Work-Study is a financial aid award that allows undergraduate and graduate students to work part-time to earn money to pay for educational expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study. Students earning work-study funds are paid bi-weekly. If awarded work-study, students may search open positions on the Handshake job board.
Students can be awarded Federal or Colorado Work Study. Not sure if you have Work-Study? It will be a specific line item in your financial aid award package located in your student portal.
Student Hourly
Student Hourly positions are on-campus positions funded by a university department’s budget. Work-study and/or financial aid is not required for this type of employment. All hourly students must be enrolled in some credit-earning capacity during the semester in which you are employed. Students may search open positions on the Handshake job board.
Regular Hourly
Regular Hourly positions are offered by businesses in the surrounding Denver community, and are not affiliated with the university. All students, regardless of enrollment or financial need, may apply for these positions through the Handshake job board.
