Bachelor in Applied Computer Science

With an Applied Computer Science degree, you’ll be prepared to make meaningful contributions to the world through the thoughtful application of technology. At UNK, Students work collaboratively as they design, develop and implement software solutions, such as mobile apps, video games and robotics software. Students gain real-world experience by completing hands-on projects and gain a strong theoretical foundation that prepares them for successful careers.

The curriculum is continually updated to keep pace with changing industry needs and practices, so students graduate with skills that are in demand in today’s job market. The practical focus of the program is supported by Discovery Hall, UNK’s 90,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art STEM facility which opened in August 2020. Discovery Hall gives computer science students access to cutting-edge technology, modern classrooms and interactive lab spaces that allow their ideas to flourish.

The Applied Computer Science program is designed primarily for students who want to seek employment after graduation rather than pursuing graduate school. Students pair this major with a secondary interest in any of 80+ minors such as graphic design, business, or networking.
