BSc (Hons) Environmental Management and Sustainability (with Professional Placement Year)

With increasing concerns about climate change and the impacts of humans on our planet there has never been a more important time to study this highly contemporary and engaging course if you want to make a difference.

There has never been such a demand for environmental and sustainability experts; this new and exciting course has been created specifically to address how we can manage the environment better with a key focus on sustainable futures.

The course has been inspired by leading employers and developed in conjunction with experts working in the environmental sector. Employability skills are therefore at the core of your learning. Employers will want the skills you acquire.

You will gain skills in the assessment, monitoring, evaluation, and interpretation of interactions between humans and the environment, and learn how to develop recommendations for sustainable management.

This is a course for students that want a stronger focus on environmental science set within the context of Environmental Management & Sustainability.

The course is set strongly in the context of environmental and socio-economic sustainability and how environmental management can be used to meet the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

You will be taught by university lecturers carrying out internationally recognised research to address environmental issues, including pollution, sustainable food production, and the conservation of species and habitats.

Careers support
Our Careers and Employability Service are based in the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre.  They offer in-depth support to current students and graduates including leavers toolkits, career planning sessions, CV and cover letter advice and application guides.

The myCareer service is the online home for all things Careers & Employability related and allows students, staff and graduates to book appointments, attend events, workshops and Careers Fairs, search for jobs and unlock different levels of the Worcester Award.

In order to help you determine the best learning environment for you, the Careers and Employability Service offer free psychometric tests to determine your learning styles, your career interests and your readiness to enter employment. They can support you to gain relevant experience, practice aptitude tests and maximise your potential for future employers.

Many students have opportunities to take placements or work project modules as part of their degree which further equips you for post-graduate employment. For Business School students, this might include a paid placement year in an area relevant to your future career goals.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (courses requiring a UCAS tariff range of 96-112)

Postgraduate

Applicants with an overall grade of 60% from the Standard XII Higher Secondary School Certificate from the All India Boards and 65% in English from standard XII or an IELTS of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each component) will be considered for admission to our Undergraduate degree courses. Other English Language qualifications will be considered. All other boards will require an overall grade of 65%.
