Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering

As a practicing engineer looking for a competitive advantage in the workforce, the MEng program in mechanical and manufacturing engineering is a good choice. It is designed to support either full- or part-time studies, preparing you for advanced career opportunities. The course-based program allows you to complete the degree in two years, full time, with the option to complete it over up to six years of part-time studies. Taking your education beyond your four-year bachelor’s degree, you will enhance your knowledge with 10 technical courses. This will enable you to expand or focus your career, depending on your goals, in a variety of sectors. These range from natural resources, alternative energy systems, advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, aerospace, autonomous systems and mobile robotics, smart and sustainable infrastructure and more.

PSW Opportunity

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

GPA

  • A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (a minimum of 10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of the undergraduate degree.

Minimum education

  • A four-year baccalaureate degree in mechanical engineering, or an equivalent degree, from a recognized institution. Consideration is also given to applicants with a four-year science degree in mathematics, physics or kinesiology, or an equivalent degree, from a recognized institution.

  • One official copy of your final transcript (and degree certificate if degree is not clearly stated on transcript) in a signed, sealed envelope from the institution attended. Unofficial transcripts can be uploaded to the online application for initial evaluation purposes. Admission offers, however, are conditional upon receipt of official transcripts.  
  • Official transcripts can be mailed to us directly from the institution, or they can be mailed to you directly and you can send them to us yourself
  • We will not accept unsealed official transcripts as official

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree - First Class Division, or 8/10 (or 7.5/10 for IITs only). Students with 3 years of Bachelor's Degree must also hold a Master's Degree.
