PgD Rural Property Management

The aims of the course are to provide students with specialised training in rural land and estate management. Specifically, the courses will prepare students for a career as in rural land and property management and offer professional and technical training to that end. Both academic studies and the vocational nature of the course in preparing students for a particular profession are enhanced by the close links of Harper Adams and the land management course team with industry.

The 4 module PgC programme and the 8 module PgD programme choose from the same module suite as the Master's courses in Rural Estate and Land Management. The shorter, non-RICS accredited options are typically taken by:

Chartered surveyors who qualified in a non-rural discipline and want to gain rural expertise
Rural surveyors returning after an extended career break or time working outside the rural sector
AssocRICS qualified professionals who are seeking to become chartered surveyors and need further educational credits
On a case by case basis, students who do not have the entry requirements for the Master's courses may be offered a place on the Postgraduate Certificate course with a view to transferring to Master's on successful completion.

Job Opportunity Potential

From day one at Harper Adams, you'll discover new ideas and develop them through a mix of academic study and practical projects.

During the placement year, that is included in all of our degree courses, you'll put your ideas to the test. You'll develop the real world experience that employers want, as well as a deep working knowledge of your subject.

During your year in industry you'll be meeting challenges, learning new things, meeting people, making decisions, managing money and even staff, planning ahead, using your initiative, and taking responsibility.

We see the difference in students when they get back from placement - they're more confident, focused, ready to take the world on! They know better which path they want to take, and what they need to do in their final year of studies to get there.
