One of our school’s largest departments, Finance comprises a dynamic group of award-winning academics researching a broad array of areas of finance.
Home to the Douglas C. Mackay Chair in Finance, our Finance department offers you the Douglas C. Mackay risk laboratory featuring an array of easily accessible databases and other sophisticated and finance-focused research tools such as Bloomberg Terminals, Thomson Reuters Datastream, EIKON, OptionMetrics and CRSP Stocks and Mutual Funds.
As part of the activities of the Douglas C. Mackay risk laboratory, the Rowe School of Business has been approved as a member of the Bloomberg Experiential Learning Partner (ELP) program. The ELP program recognizes an exclusive group of educational institutions from around the world for integrating the Bloomberg terminals, which are the standard for professional financial analysis, into their curriculum and experiential learning activities.
Our Finance team also offers the Mackay Seminars, a symposium that attracts prominent speakers and leaders from top universities in this field.

Job Opportunity Potential
Our Finance department advises DALIS, an innovative student-run hedge fund that develops and utilizes state-of-the-art investment and risk management techniques.
Non-credit workshops are conducted in areas such as Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and commercial banking to give you a competitive advantage when it comes to securing your co-ops, corporate residencies and full-time career placements.
Finally, the Finance area offers the MScB program in Finance, an advanced master's level program geared to allow graduates to produce high calibre research for industry, academia or to accelerate their advancement in a Doctorate program in Finance.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
- Four-year bachelor's degree from a university of recognized standing
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of study. If you wish to be considered for any entrance scholarship, a minimum GPA of 3.7 (out of 4.3) is recommended.
