Electronic and Electrical Engineering MEng (Hons)
It’s impossible to imagine a world without electronic and electrical engineering. It covers everything from tiny integrated circuits in household items and mobile phones, to the large-scale utilities that power our homes. The industry is fast paced and rapidly changing with a focus on renewable and sustainable energy sources. An electronic and electrical degree from NTU can put you at the forefront of this exciting technological revolution by providing the skills and knowledge needed to be a great engineer.
During this course, you will develop your knowledge and engineering skills by participating in several industry-led projects. These are set by external industry experts to make you think, work and behave like a professional engineer. You’ll learn to use latest digital technologies to deliver creative and effective solutions for a wide range of engineering problems in electronic and electrical domains.
We’ve embedded sustainability as a core part of our curriculum and you’ll spend time looking at solutions for environmental-related issues.
The Grand Challenge, a concept design project posed by industry, marks the end of your first and second years. You will present your results at an end of year show before focusing on an individual research project. This forms a substantial part of the Masters level modules for the MEng qualification.
With an integrated Masters (MEng) qualification, you’ll take your studies to the next level by studying undergraduate and Masters-level material alongside an in-depth research project.
You’ll benefit from excellent teaching. We are in the top 10 in the UK for teaching quality in general engineering (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021).
With the focus firmly on problem-solving and live project work, we aim to give you three to four years of industry experience before you graduate. Who wouldn’t want that on their CV
