Bachelor of Health Science (Sport and Exercise Science)

This degree focuses on the science that underpins physical activity and exercise, and how it can be used to design, implement and evaluate exercise programs. Throughout your study, you will gain valuable practical experience while having access to state-of-the-art facilities, dedicated exercise and sport science labs, and sports venues.

In this course, you will learn how to work with people from a range of fitness levels and ages. This includes high-performance sport through to general health and fitness, rehabilitation, and management of obesity and weight related health problems. Areas of study you can choose from include biometrics, exercise physiology, exercise prescription, motor control and sports psychology. This course will also give you the professional skills you need to deliver high-quality care, with 140 hours of work placements in your third year. When you graduate, you can choose from a range of career options in health and fitness centres, working in government agencies associated with sport, in teaching and research, as well as professional sporting groups, rehabilitation clinics and hospitals.
