Advanced Social Work Studies MSc
Study advanced social work and develop the research and leadership skills you need to enhance your social work practice.
Learning alongside students from other professions, and from all over the world, the interdisciplinary approach of this course allows you to explore social work issues in relation to your own practice. You will learn the latest, most relevant research methods and undertake highly influential research in your area of interest.
You will learn about ethical issues and dilemmas relating to social work. You'll have the opportunity to critically engage with the challenges and opportunities of inter-professional collaboration and the role that organizational culture and change play in the way social work is shaped and delivered.
This course is ideal if you have been employed in any area of social work, including working with young people, people with disabilities, families, people in poverty, and within the criminal justice system.
You will be encouraged to share your experience and knowledge with other postgraduate students, both from social work and other professions including teachers, health professionals, and community workers.

The main campus of the university is located in Dundee's West End which contains many of the university's teaching and research facilities; the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee Law School and the Dundee Dental Hospital and School.

PSW Opportunity
2 Years PSW is applicable after the course completing (Bachelors level or above)
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree with 55% or above considered from University of Delhi, University of Mumbai, University of Calcutta, IITs and IIMs (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
Bachelor’s degree with 60% or above required from other institutions (considered equivalent to a UK 2.1 degree)
A Bachelor’s degree with 50% or above may be considered comparable to a UK 2.2 degree.
Law applicants from other well-ranked institutions may be considered with 55% or above
Grade requirements
The normal entry requirement is a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a discipline that provides a suitable basis for the course, e.g. biomedical, electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematics. Students with other academic backgrounds or exceptional work experience in the chosen field should contact the Course Director to make further inquiries and to discuss their individual cases.
