BA (Hons) Professional Practice in Special Educational Needs and Disability
This course is a distance learning programme delivered online, and is an ideal progression route if you are a graduate of an FdA Professional Practice in Special Educational Needs and Disability (or similar award), and have current and relevant experience of working within the sector. The course will equip you with a critical understanding of sociological, psychological and philosophical values that shape Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
This course explores policy and practice in SEND, in different educational, cultural and social settings. It promotes your appreciation of the need for inclusive, relevant and ever-changing teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
You will be challenged to consider interpretations and responses to needs in practice, seeking solutions and opportunities to advocate for change. You will develop knowledge and understanding of different needs and acquire skills in meeting these, through examining theory and engaging in research. Typical entrants to the course will be working practitioners within the sector.

Job Opportunity Potential
At BGU we want our students to have as broad a University experience as possible. Getting involved in paid work and volunteering is a great way to feel part of the University and wider Lincoln community. The experiences you gain will
help you in the graduate recruitment market,
count towards your Volunteering Award and Graduate Attributes Excellence Award and
develop your employability skills.
These opportunities are also a great way for you to meet people, make friends and give something back.
As we can’t host the annual Jobs on Campus Fayre or Volunteering Fayre at this time, we’ve pulled together all the information you need to get involved onto this webpage. You can browse opportunities, read job descriptions and watch videos from students already involved.
The Careers, Employability & Enterprise team supports BGU students during their studies to research and plan their career, and to improve their employability.
