A major in Political Science offers a strong foundation in the Liberal Arts. Building on the foundation opens the way to many career opportunities in the Private, Non-Profit and Public sectors. The choice to continue your education in graduate school can lead to diverse careers in new and exciting areas, including Attorney at Law, Professor and City Manager, Journalist, Public Relations, Communications, Legal Research, Consulting, Public Policy Advocate, Director of Development, City Council Member, Law Enforcement Officer, Legislative Director, Public Relations Officer, School District Administrator.

• 12 to 36 months (OPT duration depends on the major studied).

The following admission requirements apply to students who have not completed any college-level course work after completing secondary school.

1. Cumulative secondary school GPA equivalent to a 2.3 on the US grading scale for most programs. The College of Engineering requires a 3.0 and the College of Education and Human Services requires a 2.5.
2. Proof of English proficiency.
3. Students who have attended a US high school or secondary school in another country that follows the US high school curriculum must submit ACT or SAT scores. These students must submit a minimum total ACT score of 16, or a minimum old total SAT score of 770 (before March 1, 2016), or a minimum new total SAT score of 880 (after March 1, 2016). Students who are applying to the Honors College and student athletes must comply with NCAA eligibility requirements. 4. Official transcripts of academic work and completion certificates from each secondary school and university attended. PHOTOCOPIES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. If transcripts are not in English, please include an official/certified English translation of the original documents. Where to submit materials

Transfer Requirements:

1. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 at all previous colleges and universities combined for most programs. The College of Engineering requires a 2.2 and the College of Education and Human Services requires a 2.5.
