Western Sydney University is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute’s Educational Partnership Program in Australia and the Asia Pacific. The curriculum of this comprehensive, advanced degree overlaps with material in the CFA program.
This course provides you with the specialist technical knowledge and critical skills necessary to operate effectively in ever-changing local and global markets. You’ll also add quantitative analysis to you skillset, giving you a competitive edge when applying for senior management positions.
To prepare you for an executive career in finance, banking, property investment and corporate treasuries, core units of this degree include Financial Modelling, Financial Institutions & Markets, Funds Management & Portfolio Selection, Derivatives, Security Analysis & Portfolio Theory, and Corporate Finance. You can then choose four additional units that best reflect your interests and ambitions.
These include Financial Institution Management, Credit & Lending Decisions, International Finance, Economics, New Venture Finance, Property Finance & Taxation, and Property Portfolio Analysis. You will then complete a business project or internship to gain real world experience.

- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
