We strongly encourage you to confirm how the DClinDent and MOrth awards are recognised in your country. This can be confirmed through regulatory bodies in your country of origin

A primary dental qualification (such as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery), or its international equivalent, plus a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience.

In addition to the above minimum entry requirements, the following attributes are desirable:

• Possession of one or both parts of the of the MFDS, MFD, or MJDF examinations or part 1 of the M.Orth examination, of one of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of the UK and Ireland,
• Experience of at least TWO different areas of dental practice (children's dentistry, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, etc),
• Experience of clinical audit
• Experience of research
• Presentations at conferences (posters or verbal)
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals – either as main author or co-author
• Teaching experience

Protecting Vulnerable Groups

All successful applicants will be required to join Disclosure Scotland's Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before starting the programme. In addition, all applicants who don't live in the UK, or who have spent more than a year abroad, will need to provide equivalent verification from the relevant national authority.

Postgraduate entry requirements for students from India.

In order to qualify for entry to master’s study at the University of Edinburgh, you must have a good degree from a highly ranked university in India.

• Entry requirements will vary, depending on the intended programme of study. However, the minimum score you should have achieved is 60% or more in your Bachelor's study.
• We may also accept equivalent qualifications or work experience.
• Applicants who meet this minimum may be considered for entry and will be measured competitively against other applicants. For many of our programmes, competition is high and in the majority of cases, a very high First Class degree will be required. Certain programmes will also have specific requirements in terms of both the overall degree result and strengths in particular subjects which are seen as relevant to that degree.

Graduate entry to Medicine (MBChB)

Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline will be considered for the 6 year programme.
