The first Graduate Program to be offered at Trent University Durham, located within the thriving Greater Toronto Area in Oshawa.

Understand the larger social issues facing business and organizations in today's changing environment.

This professional masters program will provide you with a competitive edge in the job market with a grounding in a broad spectrum of business and management disciplines, from accounting to corporate finance and marketing to strategic management. Developed to address the needs of today’s employers, you will become prepared to take on leadership positions in management in Canada or abroad.

This full-time, 16-month, course-based program is offered by the School of Business at Trent University Durham Greater Toronto Area, specifically for students who have recently graduated from non-business majors. Begin the program directly after university graduation, or with up to five years of post-graduation work experience. The program will be offered over four terms and include a work integrated learning opportunity.

If your program was less than 8 months

  •    You aren’t eligible for a PGWP.

If your program was more than 8 months but less than 2 years

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for up to the same length as your study program.

For example, if you completed a 9-month program, we may give you a work permit for up to 9 months.

If your program was 2 years or more

  •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

  • Honours degree (a four year undergraduate bachelor's degree) with at least B+ (77%) in the last two years of full-time study, or last ten full academic credits.
  • Familiarity with calculus is highly desirable for any potential applicants. Successful completion of an undergraduate quantitative methods course will prove to be very helpful for students wishing to apply to this program
  • Enrollment is limited; preference will be given to applicants who exceed the above minimum requirements and those with relevant work experience. 
  • Proof of English Language Proficiency

A GRE or GMAT test score is not required for admission into this program 

Required Documents
Transcripts

Post-secondary transcripts and graduation certificates (where applicable) of all previous undergraduate and graduate work are required. This includes transcripts for courses taken on a Letter of Permission, for transfer credit, or on an exchange program.   Transcripts must show all course work completed and grades received.   If applicable, evidence of degree completion is required.  Transcript must include a grading scale or transcript legend.

Please note: Transcripts are not required to be official and final when applying to the School of Graduate Studies.   Official transcripts are only required to be submitted if an applicant receives an offer of admission.

Previous or current Trent University students do not need to submit a transcript for degree and course work completed at Trent University.   Transcripts must be submitted for any course work completed at another institution – i.e.) study abroad, letter of permission, transfer credit.

International Applicants: the verification services of an organization such as WES are not required unless requested by the School of Graduate Studies after a review of complete applications.
