LLB in LAW WITH POLITICS

Law affects all of our lives and the knowledge of law increases our understanding of the society and the world in which we live. This Law with Politics programme provides a quality education in Law combined with another discipline, to promote such an awareness and to allow those who so wish, to progress to careers in the legal professions.

Approximately two-thirds of the curriculum will focus on Law and one-third on Politics. All our LLB degrees have been accredited by the Law Society and the Bar Council as Qualifying Law Degrees (QLD). This status denotes that Bangor LLB graduates have completed the academic stage of training for the legal professions in England and Wales, and may enter directly onto Legal Practice Courses (LPC) to become solicitors or the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) to become barristers.

Combining the study of Law with Politics leading to a Qualifying Law Degree gives you an opportunity to focus on important issues surrounding the influence of power, governance, sovereignty, conflict, order, mediation, obligation, justice, accountability, legitimacy, security, and decision-making.

Bangor University is recognised as a qualifying law degree provider by the Bar Standards Board and this degree is accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

International Experience

Students have the opportunity to enhance their degree programme and extend their understanding of their degree subject area by spending a period of study at an overseas host Institution.  This route is optional and if you choose to follow it, you will extend your period of study from three years to four and will gain an enhanced degree qualification – LLB Law with Politics (International Experience).
