The devolution of the Welsh Government and the introduction of the Welsh Language Act have made the ability to speak and understand Welsh at a high and intellectual level attractive to employers. As Welsh laws increase, so does the demand for lawyers with the ability to handle the law through the medium of Welsh and within a Welsh context.

This program is designed to prepare a student for contemporary Wales and beyond.

Law is a diverse subject that is constantly evolving as it responds to social, economic and political developments. It manages all aspects of our daily life, from neighbor disputes and environmental protection to employment issues and healthcare provision. In a modern, democratic society, the law exists to ensure justice.

The Professional Welsh element is taught by the Department of Welsh and Celtic Studies. On this course you will develop skills related to using the Welsh language confidently in a wide range of professional contexts and within the workplace. You will be taught by staff with extensive experience in areas such as translation, creative writing, heritage study and promotion, editing and publishing.

PSW Opportunity

2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Academic:

Standard XII Certificate from recognised central or state board:75 % in year XII Std.

Some courses may have subject specific requirements in addition to the above

English Language:

IELTS Score of at least 6.0 - 6.5 depending on course requirements and level.

70% in English at Year XII std level.
