MSc Biomedical Science

The COVID-19 pandemic has refocused attention on society's health. With increased life expectancy predicted to fuel age-related increases in heart disease, dementia, stroke, pulmonary disorders, and cancer, the pandemic has brought a greater urgency to understand how we can better manage these conditions.

Available with full and part-time study routes, the highly-relevant Biomedical Science postgraduate course at Salford is designed to guide science graduates and industry professional as they explore the underlying causes of these diseases and expand their knowledge about current and novel diagnostics and treatments of disorders.

Led by academics with track records in world-leading research, a key course focus is on personalised medicine, targeted therapies and medicine, and the move away from a ‘one size fits all’ treatment and care of patients with a particular conditions.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Postgraduate

Holders of a three or four year bachelor's degree with an overall average of 55% from a recognised institution, or 50% plus any relevant work experience, or additional, relevant qualifications will be considered for postgraduate study.

This course is designed for enquiring minds, committed to taking their skills to an advanced level. We welcome applications from recent science graduates and experienced industry professionals who want to gain knowledge in biomedicine, and build career-enhancing skills for biomedical research, teaching, and laboratory management.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
International applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (with no element below 5.5) is proof of this.
