Master of Arts in Latin American Studies
Founded in 1962, the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS) at Ohio State—home to 90 faculty members representing six colleges and 26 departments—has become a leading promoter of the university’s efforts to internationalize the curriculum, foster multidisciplinary initiatives and increase diversity of perspectives.
Developed and administered by CLAS and first offered in autumn 2010, the Masters of Arts in Latin American Studies requires 30 semester credit hours of coursework for graduation. To be considered for admission, students must demonstrate advanced proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese, equal to three years university instruction or (near) native fluency.
