EdD in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
The Doctorate in Education in TESOL Degree Program will prepare you in the field of second language teaching and learning to be the guide who helps students find their voice. With the EdD in TESOL offered through the California School of Education (CSOE) at Alliant International University, you will join theory with method, showcase the impact of culture and identity, develop curriculum, conduct research, and step off of our graduation stage ready to make your impact.
The EdD in TESOL degree is a 51-credit program and takes a minimum of 3 years to complete, across 7 semesters.

Job Opportunity Potential
Graduates of our Doctorate in TESOL degree program can expect to find a career teaching English to speakers of other languages across all age ranges and the applicable settings—private language schools for children, adult education centers for adults, community college language programs, and so on. They may also use this degree to enhance a pre-existing career in education to offer them a wider range of opportunity for employment in a setting where knowledge of TESOL may be preferred. EdD in TESOL graduates also have the opportunity to work in the design and creation of classroom materials for TESOL programs, as their advanced degree offers them unique perspective on the challenges of teaching TESOL, and how those challenges can be conquered by both teachers and students.
