BSc (Hons) Statistical Data Science

Statistical data science is at the core of modern data analytics that turn data into intelligence to inform decision-making and solve challenging problems. Applications range from economics and medicine, to social and environmental sciences. This degree covers theoretical and applied elements of modern statistics, and provides training and practical experience in modelling, analyzing and interpreting real data required in the economy, industry and research. The early years of the degree cover basic mathematics, computing, probability and statistics. The final years focus on advanced specialist topics in statistical modelling, data science, machine learning, probability and stochastic processes.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

First year entry

  • A-levels ABB including an A in Mathematics
  • Foundation year Progression from the Dubai Entry Programme ABBB including A in Mathematics
  • IB Diploma 26 points with higher level Mathematics at grade 6
  • CBSE 75% with grade 12 Mathematics greater than 75%
  • High School Diploma with a SAT Mathematics score greater than 600
  • Compulsory subject to include Mathematics

Second year entry

  • A-levels AAB including an A in Mathematics
  • IB Diploma 28 points with higher level Mathematics at grade 6
  • CBSE 85% with grade 12 Mathematics greater than 85%
  • Compulsory subject to include Mathematics.
