What to Expect in the Mathematics Program
As a math student, you’ll develop strong problem skills, analytical skills, and a proficiency for handling numbers.

You’ll also:

  • Receive personal attention from each of your professors in small class sizes with many opportunities to actively participate
  • Learn from quality professors who have earned multiple awards for excellence in teaching
  • Participate in mathematics challenges and contests such as mathematics competitions and activities provided by the Ohio Section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA)
  • Have full access to extensive computer resources within the department’s technology center, including a variety of hardware running Linux, Solaris, MacOS, and Windows operating systems. These resources also include computer algebra systems, statistic and geometric software, and other applications to facilitate your learning.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate: 2.5 GPA, 18 ACT or 960 SAT
Nursing Undergraduate: 3.0 GPA, 20 ACT or 1030 SAT

Our incoming undergraduate students obtain, on average, a 3.4 GPA and a 23 ACT score.
