Chemistry (PhD)

The Department of Chemistry offers a Graduate Program leading to the degrees of PhD and MSc. Admission to the program normally requires completion of at least an Honours B.Sc. degree from a recognized university (with upper second class standing).

Students holding a pass B.Sc. degree, or those lacking sufficient concentration or grades, may be admitted to a qualifying year program. Applicants whose primary language is not English may be required to take upgrading courses through the Applied Language Studies at Brock

St. Catharines campus of the Brock University houses around 2,500 students in 8 residence complexes. Also, the institution has a campus in the city named Hamilton in Ontario.   •    We may give you a PGWP that’s valid for 3 years.

> If you completed more than 1 program

  •    You may be able to get a PGWP that combines the length of each program.

Each of the programs you completed -

  • must be PGWP-eligible and at least 8 months in length

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

To be admitted to a PhD program, a student should hold either an appropriate master’s degree or, students with a bachelor’s degree already registered in a master’s program, may convert to PhD studies in year 2 of some of the master’s programs. Students will normally be expected to have attained an 80% average and have achieved significant research progress as determined by their supervisory committee.
