International Year One in Engineering and Computer Science

The International Year One in Engineering & Computer Science will develop your subject knowledge and English language skills, whilst preparing you to join the second year of your chosen undergraduate degree at the University of Huddersfield’s School of Computing and Engineering.

Just like the first year of an undergraduate degree, the International Year One is a two-semester programme with a choice of modules, all taught on campus. You will have the additional benefit of smaller class sizes and more support to help you develop your academic knowledge, study skills and language abilities to prepare you for your degree.

You will study several core modules focused on general skills, but the majority of your programme will be the specialised academic content relevant to your chosen undergraduate degree.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

 

A/AS Levels - 32 UCAS points (including native language)

The Diploma Programme Course (IB Certificate) - 20 points

India - Successful completion of Higher School Certificate Standard Year 12 with an average grade 45% or above

Academic: Good high school graduation grades or equivalent, plus one year of further study
English language: Academic IELTS for UKVI 5.5 (minimum of 5.5 in all components), or equivalent
Age on entry: 17+ (in the September or October of the academic year you begin your course at the International Study Centre)
