Certificate in General Carpenter (Apprenticeship)
The General Carpenter (Apprenticeship) Algonquin College Certificate program fulfills the in-class requirements for a General Carpenter apprenticeship and prepares apprentices to work as skilled carpenters in the construction industry.
Applicants to the General Carpenter College Certificate program must:
- be formally registered as apprentices with the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD)
- have a valid Offer of Classroom Training from the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development that include your Ministry Client ID and approved Class Number
Eligibility is determined by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.

- Applicants must be formally registered as apprentices, must be currently employed in the trade, and must be released by employers to attend the College.
- Eligibility is determined by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development.
Bangladesh
Higher Secondary Certificate – With an average of 60% and no core subject below 55%
Or: General Certificate of Education (0 Level). Require a minimum of five academic subjects, of which one is English with a grade of C

- Or IELTS with an overall minimum score of 6.0 (with no single test score below 5.5)
- Or CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment) with an overall band score of 60
