P.G.DIP MEDIA PRODUCTION: TV DOCUMENTARY PRODUCTION

On this course, you will learn how to research and produce original television documentaries.

During your time with us, you will receive expert instruction and guidance on the concepts, techniques and processes key to the documentary form. You will produce your own documentaries, collaborating with your fellow students in production teams.

With opportunities to engage closely with industry, the course develops the skills and techniques required to work in the media, while encouraging independent creative content production.

To complete the full MA of the course takes one year, a PGDip can be completed in nine months.

Job Opportunity Potential

In previous years, a large number of graduates from this course have moved into broadcasting jobs as camera operators, editors, sound assistants, researchers and assistant producers. Former students are currently employed at the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and independent companies across the UK.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
  • 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

Standard entry requirements

To join this MA you should have a second class honours degree, 2:2 or above, with an appropriate amount of media production, technology and design experience.

For the MA programmes in media production you will be required to submit a project proposal related to your chosen specialist field to support your application.

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.5, with no element below 5.5, is proof of this.

Postgraduate

Holders of a three or four year bachelor's degree with an overall average of 55% from a recognised institution, or 50% plus any relevant work experience, or additional, relevant qualifications will be considered for postgraduate study.
