Business with Project Management BSc(Hons)

We have seen a rapid growth and globalisation in last few decades. Sudden changes in technology, internal and external environmental changes, global competition in today’s economy has emphasised the need for progression and if these changes are not managed they can jeopardise a business from growing. Project Management is essential for a company where time, scope, budget and quality are of extreme importance, it is a growing profession and can lead you onto a successful and fulfilling career with great prospects.

Our course has been designed with this in mind and you’ll learn about the foundations of project management, the business environment and develop your skills in project management techniques to enable you to be able to manage the people, time and financial resources that are required to deliver successful projects. During the course you’ll learn to critically analyse business environments, including the economic, environmental, political and sociological factors. You’ll also consider these factors alongside their effects at local, national and global levels on the strategy, behaviour and management of your organisation.

This course is part of NOVUS Lite, an innovation developed with the university in conjunction with the NOVUS Trust. The Trust is an industry-led organisation that focuses on developing talent in the transport, logistics and supply chain management sectors. Being part of the scheme opens up wider opportunities for work experience and networking with professional in the sector, and is valuable to your professional development. The course provides a fantastic opportunity to join the NOVUS Lite scheme, which involves a guaranteed third year placement, a paid summer placement and a company mentor (subject to availability). NOVUS company guest lectures and site visits are also a benefit of the scheme. How will I learn?
You will learn through practical application and delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions.

We focus on real-world practice and look at real examples of how businesses operate.
We’ve also developed relationships with a large number of industry contacts, including DHL, Wincanton, Sainsbury’s and Cummins.
Thanks to our contacts, you’ll be able to hear some great guest lectures, go on site visits and also have the chance to take work placement opportunities.
If you’re interested in a career in project management, this course could enable you to take your first step in along the way.
During your studies, you will explore a wide range of IT tools and techniques. The skills you learn will help you go on to take on a project management role within a broad range of business areas.

You’ll explore subjects such as Financial Fluency and the Legal Environment, Understanding Business Analytics, Applied Project Management, Managing People, Planning and Control and Advanced Project Management.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
