B.A (HONS) MAKE-UP FOR MEDIA AND PERFORMANCE
This course will introduce you to a wide range of skills and techniques, from make-up for fashion to wig making and special effects.
A key feature of the programme is that you will work together on interdisciplinary, curriculum-based projects from related programmes such as Costume Design, Film and TV Stage Design, Theatre and Performance Practice, and Film Production. This experience will provide students with valuable first-hand collaborative working practices to reflect the professional world you will graduate into.
Industry engagement is a strong element of this programme, and related courses already have sustained links with BBC, ITV, Lime Productions, etc. You will have the opportunity to hear from guest speakers and to work with industry professionals on live projects, and you are also encouraged to engage in meaningful work-based placements.

Job Opportunity Potential
This course will equip you to enter the media and performance make-up industry specific to Fashion, Film, TV and live performance genres (theatre, concerts, etc), working as Special Effects (SFX), Prosthetic, and Theatrical Make-up Designers / Artists, Wig Makers, Stage and TV Make Up Artists (MUAs) and business manufacturers.
PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
GCSE
English Language and Maths at grade C/level 4 or above (or equivalent) is required.
You must fulfil our GCSE entry requirements as well as one of the requirements listed below.
Undergraduate
The following grades are normally required (exam board in brackets): 50% (West Bengal), 55% (ISC, awarded by CISCE), 60% (CBSE), 65% (all other state boards) for undergraduate study.
