B.SC (HONS) BUSINESS MANAGEMENT WITH TOURISM WITH PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT YEAR
The BSc Business Management with Tourism course blends classroom activities with exciting field trips and excursions that demonstrate how the theories you learn as you study are applied by tourism professionals. You will explore how tourism attractions are set up and managed and see this in action in visits to a range of different attractions. You will also develop key leadership and management skills such as communication, planning and team building within a hospitality and travel environment. You will study at our Salford campus close to Manchester city centre but as part of your degree you will also take part in an international field trip funded by Salford Business School to visit key destinations.
We have worked with current students and our industry partners to make sure the programme is highly practical, career-focused and industry-informed to prepare you for a successful management career. The teaching on business management with tourism is designed to be inclusive and all students regardless of their background are respected equally.
You will ‘co-create’ your own curriculum choosing modules that allow you to follow your interests. Modules such as the Live Project, Analysis for Tourism Business and Consultancy Experience support you to build your work-ready skills. You will also build your personal portfolio of professional evidence which will enhance your CV and help you in job applications and interviews.
Innovation and entrepreneurial thinking are integral parts of our teaching; these are essential to helping you to understand the different motivational aspects of entrepreneurial behaviour, and generating creative business ideas and concepts, feasibility studies and business planning to meet the differing needs in domestic and international contexts. Launch@ Salford is the Business School incubation centre that supports business start-ups.
You'll also have access to a wide range of opportunities that help you develop your real-world skills, such as live projects, a year's paid work placement and study abroad.
This programme is also delivered in Bahrain and Malaysia by our partner institutions.
