Health and Management MSc (PGCert PGDip)
The Health and Management MSc gives you the opportunity to explore specialist topics that match your personal and professional aspirations, in depth and at an advanced level.
You will benefit from the course if you are involved in the public sector or health management on a professional or voluntary basis. The course will develop your skills and knowledge for personal or professional advancement, with an emphasis on management.
The programme is extremely flexible, and is designed to meet the needs of health graduates in their continuing education and professional development. Each student designs, in consultation with the course leader, their own plan of study choosing from our wide range of modules.
You will be assigned a personal tutor and be able to consult with the course leader before choosing your modules and pathways. This ensures that you have a clear focus on your intended direction before you start the course.
Our high quality teaching and research are renowned, and have an applied focus. We have established strong links with specialist practice educators to ensure the provision of support and guidance both within the university and in practice.
We have a dedicated team of academic staff who are actively engaged in internationalising the nursing and midwifery curriculum.
Campus Information
Moulsecoomb campus
Two miles north of Brighton city centre and the seafront, Moulsecoomb is the largest of our four campuses with more than 8,000 students. Moulsecoomb Place is home to more than 160 students, while others live in nearby Varley Park. There are a number of areas of Brighton that are popular with students, just a short walk, cycle or bus ride away. These include Moulsecoomb, Bevendean, Hollingbury, Elm Grove, Hanover and other suburbs that stretch up the hills on either side of the Lewes Road.
Falmer campus
Our Falmer campus is on the edge of the South Downs National Park, just four miles from Brighton seafront. With around 7,000 students based here, we've invested £60 million in this campus in the last ten years, equipping it with outstanding modern facilities.

PSW Opportunity
- 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)
- 3 Years PSW is applicable after completing PhD level courses.
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
The entry requirements listed here are our typical offer for this course if you wish to begin studying with us in 2020. They should be used as a general guide.
Degree and experience
Students are normally expected to demonstrate one of the entry requirements below:
an honours degree from a higher educational institution in the UK (minimum of 2:2), or equivalent award from a European, or overseas higher education institution, and some public/health service experience
an appropriate professional qualification from a body that is represented in public/health services work plus minimum five years working in a public/health services organisation
and
minimum five years working in a public/health services organisation
an ability to demonstrate skills of applied learning (for example successfully completing some academic Level 6, or degree level, studies modules - grade C and above)
an HND, or diploma equivalent, in an area applied to public/health services, plus minimum five years working in a public/health services organisation
and
an ability to demonstrate skills of applied learning (for example successfully completing some Level 6 related modules - grade C and above).
Other
Students are expected to be in, or to have recently been in, public service employment, or engaged in community or voluntary activity that gives them direct understanding of the public service environment. Students' reflection on practice forms an important element of the learning.
Applicants unable to demonstrate appropriate entry requirements can be permitted to register as a single module student. Students who are successful at studying for one module and are awarded credits will be eligible after consultation with the course leader to enrol for further modules.
English language requirements
IELTS 7 overall with a minimum score of 6.5 in all elements.
International students whose language skills do not match the IELTS scores set out here should consider applying for this course through the Extended Masters programme at the university's Language Institute.
