BA (Hons) Innovation and Skills for Social Change

As part of this course you’ll:

  • Learn how to lead and create projects, innovations, and approaches that make a difference to communities locally or around the world
  • Explore a wide range of social issues affecting people globally, such as poverty, inequality, mental health, and sustainable development
  • Understand how social issues affect society, the planet, and people's chances in life
  • Develop the skills to identify unmet needs and how to tackle the root causes of social issues
  • Investigate the hidden strengths, opportunities, and challenges within communities and how to help them develop their capacity to contribute effectively to social change

This course has been uniquely designed with communities, social change practitioners, and leaders. You’ll study the most relevant, significant learning experiences and content which can improve your career prospects across a wider social change spectrum. Working alongside experienced practitioners and people with lived experiences, you’ll experiment with different ways to help transform society for the better.

Campus Information

Headingley Campus

Our Headingley Campus is situated just outside of the city centre in the picturesque suburbs and is easily accessible by public transport with regular direct buses into the city. Headingley is an extremely popular student area. It has its own vibrant community with bars, shops and restaurants for you to enjoy. Our beautiful campus is full of green spaces, wildlife and historical buildings. It’s a wonderful contrast from the modern city campus, which is ideal as when you join us you will have the opportunity to enjoy both.

PSW Opportunity

  • 2 Years PSW is applicable after completing a minimum duration of 9 months course (like- Undergraduate, Postgraduate Level)

International baccalaureate

IELTS

IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.

India

Qualification: Standard 12th qualifications (CBSE/ICSE or State Boards of equivalent)

Grade: Minimum aggregate of 60% and above

English language requirements (one of the below):

  • IELTS 6.0 with no skill below 5.5
  • All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE) – English Grade 70% 
  • Indian School Certificate (Class-XII) (CISCE) – English Grade 70%

Nepal

  • Qualification: Class 12th Exam by National Exam Board
