Clinical Practice, Management and Education, MSc

The UCLan School of Medicine is offering a series of short courses leading to Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Master’s for clinical and managerial practitioners working within integrated healthcare teams. Clinicians and managers can develop and enhance their portfolio career or diversify their current role. The programme allows you to convert your previous study into academic credits towards a postgraduate award.

With the challenging situation faced by the health and social care sector, changes need to be made in the way services are delivered and there is an urgent need to provide clinicians and managers with the skill sets needed for their new and future roles. We have worked closely with a wide range of clinicians and managers from across the health and social care economy to design a flexible programme that meets your specific needs.  Not only will this underpin professional career progression, it can help develop a multi-strand career for those who may seek alternative pathways that work in tandem with their clinical practice. According to the BMA*, providing staff with a framework for career progression will have a positive impact on recruitment and retention, particularly where it can be combined with opportunities to work flexibly or to pursue portfolio careers.

Within our School of Medicine, you are joining a vibrant academic community made up of clinicians and managers currently practising across health and social care, offering great opportunities to learn and network with others to share experience and views. Our teaching team includes experienced and practising clinicians, academics and tutors from Health Education England North West (HENW).
