Manufacturing Engineering, BEng (Hons)

The Manufacturing Engineering degree is based on Mechanical Engineering fundamentals combined with specialist modules in Automated Production and Advanced Manufacturing. In addition to fundamental elements such as mechanics, materials, CAD/CAE/CAM and operations management, students also develop skills in user needs, business plan development and (at MEng level) social, legal and professional ethics considerations. The BEng project presents an opportunity to integrate learning across the course, while the MEng includes a higher-level project that enables students to demonstrate application of their knowledge at a professional level, and a group project that develops and demonstrates their ability to work within a team. The latter experience that is highly valued in industry.
