Master of Renewable and Future Energy

Recent advances in renewable energy technologies is driving the energy industry to transition, both on a national and global scale. This includes new and exciting job opportunities. The Master of Renewable and Future Energy (MRFE), solves a critical need to provide engineering professionals with relevant renewable energy skills for a ripe market. Renewable energy expertise cuts across many disciplines, including; marine renewable, biomass, geothermal, photovoltaics, electrical vehicles, as well as microgrids. Supporting this research is a growing trend in the adoption of renewables in WA for remote and small communities, especially in microgrid and smart-grid technology. Learn from world leading experts and specialists who provide further insight into the future development of the energy sector and lead course innovation. MRFE students will also have access to a vast range of opportunities to network with industry, develop professional skills and connect with a dynamic cohort of students from around the world.

PSW Opportunity

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.

  • Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
  • Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
  • Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
  • The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants

Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:

  • Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
  • Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
  • Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
  • PhD students can stay upto 4 years

Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—
(a) a UWA Master of Professional Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA;
and
(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent;
and
(c) successfully completed prior tertiary study in electrical and electronic engineering, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering, or in a related cognate discipline as recognised by UWA.
