The course enables your individual pathways to be forged through three major streams of contemporary performance practice: directing and performance making; practice-led research; and applied performance in intercultural and community engagement contexts.
COLLABORATIVE LEARNING
Experience a wide range of collaborative opportunities and leadership roles with designers, actors, production teams, writers, dramaturgs and choreographers - both nationally and internationally.
THEORETICAL AND PRACTICAL LEARNING
The program is delivered through lab-based workshops, seminars, lectures, self-directed exercises, tutorials, practical master classes, and national and international internships.

Post Study Work Steam Renames to Post Higher Education Work Steam.
- Bachelor degree holders including honours can get upto 2 years of post study stay
- Master by course work and extended (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 2 years
- Masters by research (with a duration exceeding 2 years) and PhD holder can stay upto 3 years
- The Maximum eligible age to apply for PSW will be reduced to 35 years of age from 50 years of age for all applicants
Due to the Australian Indian Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement signed by the 2 countries, according to which:
- Indian students completing bachelor degree including honours can stay upto 2 years
- Bachelor degree with First class honours in STEM including ICT can stay upto 3 years
- Masters by coursework in extended researched (with a duration exceeding 2 years) can stay upto 3 years
- PhD students can stay upto 4 years
Admission Requirement / Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for entry, applicants must have completed either:
- an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (such as the performing arts, music, visual arts, film, dance and digital arts), or equivalent; or
- an undergraduate degree in a cognate discipline (such as social sciences, architecture, landscape, computer science, cultural studies, applied sciences or international development fields), or equivalent; or
- an honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline, with a weighted average mark of at least H2B (70%) across the honours year; or
- at least six years of documented professional practice in the creative arts industry.
You must also submit a supplementary application:
- an artistic statement of no more than 1500 words which may include written and visual elements, and
- a curriculum vitae (CV), and
- three referees.
Shortlisted applicants must also attend an interview/practice observation.
Disciplines related to this course include performing arts, music, visual arts, film, dance, digital arts, social sciences, architecture, landscape, computer science, cultural studies, applied sciences, or international development fields.
